Motorola DynaTAC 8000X "This is a real victory, large breakthrough…”

Motorola has long produced a mobile phone to the car, a large
and heavy and consumed too much energy to allow
without the use of a car engine running. Motorola and

Cooper, former general manager for the systems division at Motorola led the

In 1983, Motorola DynaTAC 8000X received approval from the Commission

U.S. Federal Communications and became the world's first mobile phone

Siemens Xelibri : a fashion-oriented range of mobile phones created by Siemens mobile

Xelibri was a fashion-oriented range of mobile phones created by Siemens mobile in early 2003.Two collections each consisting of 4 bizarrely designed phones were released before the Xelibri project was dropped due to poor sales in April 2004. The first Space on Earth (2003 Q2, Xelibri 1 to 4) collection with its Star Trek influences was designed in house by Siemens whilst the second Fashion Extravaganza (2003 Q4, Xelibri 5 to 8) collection was contracted out to IDEO design.

ThreeGMobile believed that most readers like tech - gadgets, mobile phones with lots of exciting features. However, tech - phones may not generate income for the mobile phone manufacturers. Siemens has produced lots of great feature phones. In 2003 they established "Xelibri" brand, positioned as fashion phones. The series of phones do not have much advanced features, but have very special outlooks. Like the real fashion, the new Xelibri series will be available according to the season. ThreeGMobile got the 2003 Spring / Summer series. They are the first series of Xelibri phones. We have tried them and now we share our first impression!

The Xelibri series for the Spring and Summer 2003 include four models. The model number are very simple named as "1" , "2", "3" , "4". Xelibri names them as "Personal Communication Device" (PCD) not mobile phone. The theme of the series is "Space on Earth". If you take a quick look of the phone, you will realize the feeling of "Space". The designs are different from the normal mobile phones. If you wear them on the street, we are sure that you will attract lots of attentions.

Siemens Xelibri 8 : Beautiful mobile phone looks like a stop watch

Siemens Xelibri 8 is not comfortable for hold in ones hand because it is too wide.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Siemens handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the comfortable center keys, make the phone easer to dial. And last, but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display. The phone incidentally also offers up an integrated FM radio.

Audio quality on the Xelibri 8 was crystal clear, and signal quality was good.

The 4096-color display is dim, not very bright and crisp, but is a far step above the very dim 256-color versions on even the most recent Siemens models. The display resolution 101 x 80 pixel is not very high but is normal for small phone like this.

Siemens Xelibri 7 : just slip in on to your pocket or where ever you choose

Siemens Xelibri 7 is a GSM dual band mobile phone which is part of the second Siemens Xelibri collection of mobile phones.

The X7 is very unusual in that the whole phone is shaped like a clip and can be hung on clothing. Apart from the presence of a colour screen, the X7 is a very basic mobile phone.

The Xelibri 7 is comfortable to hold and lies well in ones hand.A numerical keypad placed below offers appropriately-spaced keys and are pleasantly comfortable in use.Sporting a simple and user friendly menu in style with other recent Siemens handsets. The plastic keypad has good placed keys, with the shrunken center keys for no apparent reason, make the phone harder to dial than necessary.Unfortunately, the keypad of the Siemens Xelibri 7 emits excess noise, but on the bright side its keys have been comfortably spaced and sized. We're not entirely happy with the design of the navigational pad and its adjac

ent buttons, however, as distinguishing between these less easy than it ought to be.And last, but not least, a five-way navigation buttons centered below the display.

Siemens Xelibri 5 : Looks like a freakin´ zord

The Siemens Xelibri 5 comes with built in polyphonic ringtones, which means you can download simple MIDI files from the Internet and upload them through your phone, or simply download them via GRPS (if GRPS is built in). We do not recommend purchasing polyphonic ringtones from pay-per-use services such as television commercials, because the Xelibri 5 is capable of receiving them as MIDI files which are common on the Internet.

The Siemens Xelibri 5 is capable of surfing the Internet with the built in browser of the phone. The Siemens Xelibri 5 comes fully equipped with a WAP browser, and additionally an HTML browser for normal web page surfing.. including support for java.

Siemens Xelibri 4 : The sharp V design

Siemens Xelibri 4 is the first announced Xelibri model. The sharp V and black look shock all the audience. The keypad is the same of model number 2, and the backlight is white too. The design of Xelibri 4 does not encourage you to hold it by hand. The big hole at the top allows you to wear any kind of hand string. Also, it equips a back clip so that you can hold in on the belt.

Siemens Xelibri 2 : The Alien Beauty

The nickname of Xelibri 2, the alien beauty. The design of Xelibri 2 is inspirited by alien fiction movie. The screen of Xelibri 2 is larger, and emits the white backlight. But the most innovative design is the keypad located at the two sides of the phone. Unlike Siemens SX1, the size of the keys is smaller. Turn it back; you will see a clip for you to hold it on the belt.
